Jan. 31st, 2005 @ 08:34 pm At CTU
Jack had a suspicion that a lockdown of CTU would be called in once Colefield had learned that he had brought Dr. Weiss to their facility instead of taking her to one strictly ran by the CIA. So he waited for the agent's return outside of the building and did not have long to wait as Colefield's car came into the parking lot, the tires screeching to a halt.

Jan. 25th, 2005 @ 06:17 pm Coming to Los Angeles
I've lived on the East Coast all my life. Granted, in various cities, but I've lived on that side of the country and only ever traveled for visits in the West. Now I'm moving here. To Los Angeles of all places.

Why am I making such an insane, drastic change? There are so many reasons.

I suppose I'm hoping to have a fresh start and a chance to escape the past that has dogged me for years. Up until my father died (saving my life no less) I'd lived in his shadow. I was 'Jonathan Doors' son', not Joshua. Maybe that's why I became a great lawyer in the first place, to try and make a name for myself... to not be under his influence. It didn't work because every victory of mine reflected more on him than it did on me. It's been frustrating.

But why L.A.? Why not some other town, even another country?

Los Angeles is where she is. Arica. We broke up years ago but I've never forgotten her. I shouldn't have lost contact with her either. I should never have let that happen. She's made a reputation for herself as a great forensic expert. And I don't know if she'll even want to see me. But I thought it was worth a shot.

Eric quickly carried his wife down to the infirmary where she could be taken care of. "Hey doc, get out here!"

Jan. 20th, 2005 @ 10:08 pm At the hospital
Arica sat quietly at the hospital, watching as her people were taken care of. Agents were swarming the place as well. Someone familiar entering caught her eye. Jack Bristow. He'd saved her life twice before but since Eric had transfered, she hadn't seen him.

Dec. 1st, 2004 @ 10:46 am The Lab
Arica struggled back to consciousness after the roaring eruption had thrown her across the room into the opposite wall. She could feel the heat that the explosion had left on her face and due to both the smoke and the damage done to her face and eyes during the blast, she could barely see. Not to mention the fact that the building was now on fire.

She crawled across the floor to where her assistant lay on the ground, clearly dead. She had obviously absorbed most of the blast, otherwise Arica would be dead. Arica looked up. She could already hear the sirens in the distance.

Still unable to walk, she forced her way out into the hallway, where she could hear the screams and confusion of her people. Yes, every case in the lab had been contaminated and the evidence lost or now unusable. In fact, it was probably due to one of those many cases that this had happened. They got threats all the time. If they had just listened to her and granted her proposal to upgrade security from nonexistant to fairly decent... No, now wasn't the time for those thoughts. And some of the classified cases were volatile, at best. The lab they'd rebuild and worry about later. Right now, all that was on Arica's mind was her staff and the students that would have been on their way to the forensics class she taught here. How many people had she lost? And these people, unlike CTU weren't trained for this kind of thing... nor had most other than her experienced any kind of attack or assault. She'd faced enough to be able to keep her cool during this.

"Everybody get out now," she yelled. "Don't worry about anything but each other. The Lab can and will wait." Finally able to stand, she moved beside a body laying in the hall... still breathing. Thank God. It was one of her students. She helped her up and started moving her out of the building.

[Bring in Frank and all at this point if you want... figure they'll get there before Brittany, Mike, or Eric makes it there...]

(and this is terrorist related... if you don't mind me drawing on some real events... Forensic anthros are in demand right now).

Arica sighed. So much work needed to be done around the lab. They also had a pot load of new cases, including several classified ones, coming through the lab and since she was in charge, she had to be on top of those. Having been out for the past week recuperating hadn't helped either. No matter how good her assistant was, they had very different ways of running things and it was always a hassle for everyone to switch back and forth.

She turned back to ask her assistant for the paperwork on the next case when the world exploded in her face.

Eric sighed sitting back in his chair at his desk. Today was another light day, something he wasn't used to at the CIA. Just about every single day was non-stop and sometimes that spanned multiple days. Though, on the upside, he had been able to go home every night rather than go on mission after mission chasing after Sloane or Rambaldi or whoever the hell it was this week. He looked over at his partner. "So what's up?"

Nov. 11th, 2004 @ 01:35 am Restarting the Conversation
The elevator finally stopped and Eric glanced over at Mike. "I didn't know you guys had a gym or a shooting range here." He said, trying to restart the conversation. He shrugged. "Oh and Arica finally decided to take some of those classes, so she'll be better able to defend herself. Vaughn made her learn to shoot a gun a while back. I've been making her keep relatively in practice."

That night, after the kids had been tucked in bed, and everything taken care of, Arica found herself curled up next to her husband in bed. She'd told him what Kendall had said, had wanted, and had accused her of... the same crap again.

"It's okay Ari. CTU will protect both of us. They know you weren't involved."

"It's just so frustrating. I didn't do anything and yet I'm blamed."

"I know," he soothed, stroking her hair. He kissed her gently. "I'm happy I got out though. Dixon expedited the paperwork before Kendall got wind of the transfer. I start over at CTU in the morning."

Arica smiled. "You just better be careful. Got me?"

"I got ya, sweetheart," he replied. They quickly drifted off to sleep soon after that.

Morning came far too soon and Eric got ready for work as usual, this time trying not to wake Arica up. She'd still taken a couple weeks off to spend with the kids. She must have been really exhausted because he managed to not wake her up this time.

He arrived at CTU exactly on the dot and went to find Brittany.

Oct. 29th, 2004 @ 02:01 pm Brittany's debriefing
Jack Bristow gestured for her to have a seat as he took the empty seat across the table. Dixon sat in the middle seat and Kendall to his right [same setup as Jack's debriefing]
